Therapist | Licensed Clinical Social Worker

You are the expert of your experience.
I will respect that while helping you achieve the goals you set for yourself to improve your overall quality of life.
Alex
Hi! I’m Alex Fisher (she/her/hers).

I am a Philadelphia-based, New York bred, Licensed Clinical Therapist (LCSW). My focus is helping you to feel your best and achieve your goals in therapy. Using a variety of interventions, my approach is always to create a nonjudgmental and honest space.
I believe that a therapeutic relationship is a two way street, and developing a trusting, safe space for us to work together is my main priority.

Since 2016, I have been working with individuals, families, and couples in outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling. I have worked with people from all socio-economic backgrounds, religious practices, sexual and gender identities, as well as physical and cognitive abilities. I work with all people over the age of fourteen.

I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University, and am licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and New York. I engage regularly in continuing education and training in a variety of topics, including CRT, and inclusive feminism. I have a certification in Performance Leadership from ECornell. I am committed to doing my own work to help you do yours.

I am a cis-gendered, Jewish, Queer practitioner, and I take my moral and ethical obligation to continue informing myself as a wellness professional seriously.

I am currently offering Teletherapy for individuals and couples. I look forward to working with you!

How to Get Started

Why Teletherapy?
Teletherapy prioritizes accessibility and allows you to participate in therapy wherever you want. Teletherapy is convenient, and you can reach your goals safely and comfortably.

Schedule a Free 20 Minute Intro Call
Let’s get to know each other! Schedule your free intro call and ask me all of your questions. Let’s decide if we want to embark on this journey together.

Intake Form
Once we agree to work together (hooray for us), you will fill out a very general intake form, which you can preview here, as well as some other (brief) onboarding paperwork. I try to keep the boring stuff as short and easy as possible.

Online Appointment Scheduling
Clients new and old can access me right here using my client portal. If you have any questions about using the online portal, or you would rather speak to me directly, shoot me an email at hello@alexandrafishertherapy.com.

THERAPEUTIC AF BLOG
Me, reflecting on the often universal issues my clients experience, things I am struggling with or thinking a lot about, as well as questions we all have.

I came up with a catchy hashtag to easily stay updated with my blogs and thoughts on social media, too.

MORE ABOUT ME
IN THE MEDIA
What makes me qualified for this?
Check out my CV.
I do not enjoy stepping out of my comfort zone and being in the media, but I LOVE to talk about mental health, community building, and, inevitably, my dogs.
You can check out my guest speaking engagements, podcast interviews, etc. here.

TESTIMONIALS
I believe strongly in informed consent, meaning that you know exactly what you are engaging in when you work with me.
Part of that is learning from other people’s experiences in working with me. You wouldn’t order anything online without reading the reviews, why wouldn’t you read them now?
